Rivals Knock
Privacy Policy
Rivals Knock is a football writing website. This page explains, in plain words, what information we collect when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it to the minimum.
What we collect
When you comment: the name and email you enter, your comment, the side you represent (if you add one), and your IP address and browser details, which WordPress keeps to help stop spam. Your email is never shown publicly.
When you vote on “Pick your side”: we count the vote. To stop people voting twice, we save a small cookie in your browser for one year that remembers your pick, and we keep a scrambled code made from your connection (not your actual IP address) for 12 hours. We cannot tell who you are from either.
When you email us: your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work:
- Vote cookie: remembers your pick for one year so you can’t vote twice.
- Comment cookies: if you tick the box when commenting, your browser remembers your name and email for next time.
- Login cookies: only for the site’s editors.
We don’t use advertising cookies and we don’t sell anything about you.
Embedded content
Some articles include videos or posts from other sites, such as YouTube or X. These behave exactly as if you visited those sites, and they may collect data about you under their own privacy policies.
Who we share it with
No one, except the services that run the site: our web host (Hostinger), which stores the site and its data. We never sell or rent your information.
How long we keep it
Comments and their details stay for as long as the comment is published. Vote cookies last one year. The anti-double-vote code is deleted after 12 hours. Emails are kept only as long as needed to reply.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you, including your comments. Just email us and we’ll act on it.
